Lone Dröscher Nielsen: Save The Orangutan

Lone Dröscher Nielsen is the woman behind the world’s biggest rehabilitation center for orangutan. For years she has worked to save and adopt the red Asian ape. Nicknamed “the mother of a thousand orangutans”, Lone realizes that Borneo's rainforest is disappearing, and the orangutans are threatened with extinction. She has been tirelessly working to ensure the survival of the wild orangutan and halt clearance of its rainforest home.

With the rainforest in jeopardy and disappearing, Save the Orangutan understands the threat this causes to orangutans, as their homes are being destroyed they are now faced with extinction. For the past 10 years, they have tried to prevent the clearance of the rainforest in order to protect the place these orangutans call home.

Working with organizations such as the Indonesian partner Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOS), Save the Orangutan hopes to get your support by allowing you to adopt an Orangutan and help it return home.
